Medical Detoxification
Medical detox at TWT Clinic is the critical first step in addiction treatment. Our medically supervised detoxification program provides a safe, comfortable environment where our clinical team manages withdrawal symptoms around the clock. Detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days depending on the substance, severity of dependence, and individual health factors.
Our board-certified physicians and nursing staff utilize evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols to minimize discomfort, reduce cravings, and prevent potentially dangerous withdrawal complications. Every patient receives an individualized detox plan developed upon admission to our Chicago treatment center.

Outpatient Programs
TWT Clinic's outpatient programs provide structured treatment while allowing clients to live at home and maintain daily responsibilities. Our outpatient services are ideal for individuals stepping down from residential treatment or for those whose clinical needs can be met with less intensive support.
We offer three distinct levels of outpatient care, each designed with a specific intensity and schedule to match your stage of recovery. All outpatient programs are held at our Chicago, Illinois treatment center and led by our experienced clinical staff.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP provides near-residential intensity with 5 to 6 hours of structured programming per day, 5 days a week, typically for 2 to 4 weeks. PHP is appropriate for clients who need intensive clinical support but do not require 24-hour supervision.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP at TWT Clinic meets 3 to 4 days per week for 3 hours per session, running 8 to 12 weeks. This program allows you to continue working or attending school while receiving meaningful therapeutic support.
Standard Outpatient
Our standard outpatient program offers ongoing individual and group therapy sessions 1 to 2 times per week. This level of care is designed for long-term maintenance and relapse prevention as you transition to fully independent living.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual diagnosis refers to the co-occurrence of a substance use disorder alongside a mental health condition. Research shows that nearly half of those struggling with addiction also experience a co-occurring mental health disorder. At TWT Clinic, we believe that treating one without the other significantly reduces the chance of lasting recovery.
Our integrated dual diagnosis program addresses both conditions simultaneously using evidence-based treatment modalities. By treating the whole person rather than isolated symptoms, our clinical team helps uncover the underlying psychological factors that drive addictive behavior, giving you the tools for sustainable, long-term sobriety.
Our Integrated Approach
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation upon admission
- Coordinated treatment plans addressing both addiction and mental health
- Medication management by board-certified psychiatrists
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for thought pattern restructuring
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation
- Trauma-informed care and EMDR when clinically indicated
- Individual counseling with licensed dual diagnosis specialists
- Psychoeducation groups on the connection between mental health and substance use
